Walter Emerson Smith

Walter E. Smith, 74, a resident of Franklin for 55+ years died suddenly at his home Sunday, September 6, 2020.

Walter was born in Niagara Falls, New York, May 1, 1946, son of the late LaVerne and Frances (Reece) Smith.   Walter spent his youth and schooled in New York and later moved from there to Franklin,  He married Eileen, in 1965.

Walter worked for over 20 years with Pike Industries in Tilton, operating the stone crusher.

He leaves,

his wife of 55 years  Eileen May (Hosmer) Smith.

Two Sons, Brian K Smith and his wife Adrienne of Franklin

                    Thomas A. Smith of Phoenix, Arizona

Two daughters, Laura L. Smith, and longtime companion, Gary Barnes of Webster

                Justina M. Fitzgerald and husband, Ted of Northfield

Two granddaughters, Shaina and husband Eric

                     Sidney and husband Chris

Four great-grandchildren, Alec, Kate, Benjamin, and Lincoln

His sister, Laura M. LaRoche of Franklin

His former daughter in law, Robin Smith of Arizona

Walter was predeceased by siblings, Rose, Jim, Wayne, and Tom

Several nieces and nephews

According to Walt’s wishes, services and burial will be at a later date.

Those who wish to do so, and are able, may make a memorial donation in Walter’s name to the Franklin Animal Shelter, 19 Rescue Road, PO Box 265, Franklin, NH 03235, or to a charity of their choice.
