Richard Baker Budge
Richard B. Budge, 83, a longtime resident of Andover, died on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at the CRVNA Hospice House in Concord after a short illness with his family by his side. Richard was born in Cambridge, MA on November 28, 1936, the son of the late William Karl and Helen (Baker) Budge.
He has been a resident of Andover since 1988, moving there from Colebrook. Richard began his career as an adjuster for Travelers Insurance Company in Florida, working there from 1961-1975. He then decided to change careers and attended the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY graduating in 1977. Following graduation he moved to New Hampshire to begin working as a chef at the Balsams Grand Hotel, where he worked from 1977-1988. He then was employed as a chef at the Lake Sunapee Country Club from 1988-1999, until finally joining J Jill in Tilton where he did computer work until retiring in 2012. Richard enjoyed hiking and snowmobiling, and his many mishaps will be something that his family will never forget. He loved his family and his close circle of friends very much and will be dearly missed.
He was predeceased by his brother, Robert Budge of Bradenton, FL and also by a granddaughter, Carrie Coker of Jefferson, GA. His family includes; his wife of 42 years, Judy (Hunt) Budge of Andover, his son, William Budge of Cincinnati, OH, his two daughters, Sherri Budge of Jefferson, GA and Vicki Paquin of Gilmanton. He is also survived by his grandson, Nicholas Sanchas and his wife Rachel and their children, Elena and Xavier Sanchas, all of Jefferson, GA.
As per Richard's wishes, there will be no services held. Burial will take place at a later date.
