Keri Leigh (Sayer) Collins

Keri L. Collins, 42, a resident of Belmont for the past five years, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2020 at Concord Hospital in Concord after a sudden illness.  Keri was born in Lowell, MA on June 4, 1978, the daughter of James L. Sayer and Kathleen P. Place.

From an early age Keri was passionate about her family and school.  She began her schooling at Pelham High School, where she was a varsity starter for the girls’ field hockey, basketball and softball teams.  After graduating in 1997, Keri attended Plymouth State College where she continued her love of community as a member of the Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority and by working on the college’s residential life staff.  Keri went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Residential Life in 2001 and, following graduation, began her career in residential life at PSU.

Keri continued her residential life career at Southern New Hampshire University. While working at SNHU, she earned her Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership in 2007.  After a year at the University of Vermont, Keri decided to return to her alma mater where she worked in the Registrar’s Office, earning the position of Vice President of Academic Operations and Strategy.  She was a valued member of the SNHU community and treasured her time as an employee, but most importantly she was loved by all who she worked with.

Keri’s passion and love was for her children and her family. Her weekends were spent with her children, Jameson and Emmalyn, and often involved her extended family. She always looked forward to trips to the beach and family outings for ice cream.  Keri loved attending events at SNHU with her children and family so her two passions could interact.

Recently, Keri found spirituality, peace, friendship and comfort in the Next Level Church in Concord.  Her Next Level Church family was a great positive influence in Keri’s life, especially the bible study program.

She was predeceased by her paternal grandfather, Norman W. Sayer, who died on May 12, 2015 and by her maternal grandfather, Richard A. Place, who died on February 3, 2017.

Her family includes, her husband Pierre B. Collins and their two children, Jameson M. Collins and Emmalyn P. Collins all of Belmont, her parents, James L. and his wife Denise A. Sayer of Litchfield and Kathleen P. and her husband Warren E. Button of Northfield, her brother, Brett J. Sayer of Manchester, her two sisters, Stephanie P. Sayer of Litchfield and Caitlyn L.
