Patricia (Black) Havumaki
Patricia Havumaki, 79, died Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at the Mountain Ridge-Genesis Care Center in Franklin following a period of failing health. She was born in Lynn, MA, June 16, 1931, daughter of the late Peter and Winifred (Powers) Black. Pat moved from Pelham, NH to Northfield in 1969. She spent her youth and schooled in Andover, MA. Pat then went on to Lowell State Teacher’s College in Lowell, MA, graduating with her teaching degree. She was an elementary school teacher and taught first grade in Haverhill, MA and Salem, NH. After moving to Northfield she taught first grade at the Union-Sanborn School in Northfield for over 25 years. She loved wildlife, in particular birds and was a longtime member of the Audubon Society. Pat had a great fondness for dogs. She was known for her warm smile and charitable personality. She was predeceased by her sisters, Peggy Hall and Polly Deutsch and her husband, Robert V. Havumaki who died in 1984. Her family includes,

According to Pat’s wishes, there will not be calling hours. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2010 at 11:00 AM in Park Cemetery in Tilton. Burial will follow.
Arrangements are under the care of the William F. Smart Sr. Memorial Home in Tilton.
