Verna F. (Uscilka) Crowley
Verna F. Crowley, 89, of 178 Sanborn Road in Tilton died Sunday, July 18, 2010 at the Lakes Region General Hospital in Laconia following a period of failing health. She was born in Northfield, October 30, 1920, oldest child of Julius and Agnes (Mokszycke) Uscilka. Verna moved from Franklin to Tilton in 1952. For several years she was employed as a waitress and worked at the former Daniel Webster Inn in Franklin and The Winnisquam House in Winnisquam. She later was employed at Lakes Region Linen in Laconia, working there in the pressing and folding department prior to her retirement. She loved animals and working on the family farm. She especially loved her cats. She was a parishioner of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Tilton. Verna was predeceased by her husband, Ronald “Sam” W. Crowley who died in 1983 and also by her brothers, John and Eddie and sister Rose. Her family includes,

Wade Crowley and his companion Joanne of Belmont

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:00 A. M. at the Assumption Church, Chestnut Street in Tilton. Verna’s family will welcome friends to the Church one half hour prior to the Mass. Burial will follow the Mass in St. John Cemetery, Sanborn Road in Tilton.
Arrangements are under the care of the William F. Smart Sr. Memorial Home in Tilton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Verna’s name to the New Hampshire Humane Society, P. O. Box 572, Laconia, NH 03247-0572.
