F. Eleanor (Hawkins) Tenteris
F. Eleanor Tenteris, 93, a long time resident of Franklin, NH died peacefully on Monday, July 5, 2010 at the Villa Crest Nursing Home in Manchester. She was born in Medford, MA on August 27, 1916, daughter of Thomas Henry Hawkins and Florence (Stewart) Hawkins. She graduated from Medford High School, class of 1935. Having moved to Franklin with her husband Peter over 50 years ago, Eleanor worked for a time at the former Tilton Leather Company in Tilton and later was employed as a receptionist by the State of New Hampshire Labor Department in Concord, where she retired after 23 years of service in 1989. Eleanor especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends during her lifetime and also became quite a bowling enthusiast, competing in a bowling league for many years until she was 88 years old. Her other hobbies included knitting, reading, cooking, watching the Patriots football and caring for her many indoor plants. Her fun loving personality was appreciated by all who knew her and she will be sadly missed.

Eleanor was predeceased by her husband Peter A. Tenteris and son, Donald Tenteris. She leaves family members,

Four grandchildren: Peter C. Waters of Salem, NH, Tracie L. (Heinz) Smith of Merrimack, NH, Kelley B. (Kevin) Binette of Hampstead, NH and Matthew S. Tenteris of Merrimack, NH.
Five great-grandchildren: Sarah, Leah and Brian Smith and twins, Camden and Elyse Binette
Sister: Dorothy (Edward) Carpenter of Hingham, MA
As well as numerous nieces and nephews. Eleanor was also predeceased by a sister Marion (Frederick) Wakeham of North Weymouth, MA and a brother, Thomas Henry Hawkins Jr. of Medford, MA.
Calling hours will be Friday, July 9th from 4:00 to 7:00 P. M. at the William F. Smart Sr. Memorial Home, Franklin-Tilton Road in Tilton. A service will be held Saturday, July 10th at 11:00 A. M. in the Memorial Home with burial following in Franklin Cemetery in Franklin.
