Kenneth George Worden Sr.

Kenneth G. Worden Sr.,  87,  a  resident of Hill for 61 years, died at his home, Sunday, July 9, 2017 following a lengthy period of failing health. Family was at his side.  Ken was born in Franklin, February 9, 1930, son of Channing and Isadore (Martel) Worden. He attended schools in Franklin and graduated from High School there. Ken served four years from 1950 to 1954 obtaining the rank of Airman 1st Class with the United States Air Force.  He retired as an installer and repairman  from the New England Telephone Company following 38 years of employment.  Ken was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. When his children were young he was a Boy Scout Leader in Hill and was a lifelong member of the VFW, Post # 1698 in Franklin, having served as Commander for two years. He enjoyed hunting for deer and his favorite pass time was lake fishing.  He often spent weeks during the summer (with his camper) in Pittsburg, fishing all of the Connecticut Lakes.

Ken was predeceased by his son, Kenneth Jr. and two sisters, Margaret "Peggy" Deragon and Pauline Rivard.

He leaves his wife of 60 years, Beverly I. (Smith) Worden of Hill

His son,  Todd C. Worden of Hill

Daughter, Kathleen Campbell and husband Bradley of Hill

Five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren

A sister, Norma Batchelder of Belmont

Nieces and nephews

Following through with Ken's wishes, there are no calling hours planned.  

A graveside service will be held Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 1:00 P. M. at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Hill with military honors and burial to follow.

Assisting the Worden family is the William F. Smart Sr. Memorial Home of Tilton.

Those wishing may make memorial contributions in Ken's name to The Franklin Visiting Nurses Association and Hospice, 75 Chestnut St. in Franklin, NH, 03235.
